Why is our children's sensory intelligence crucial?

Physical experiences are central for children’s learning process and their emotional health. All kids’ thoughts, emotions and behaviours are affected by their autonomic nervous system, which is directly influenced by their physical environment. To be able to regulate themselves and reach their full potential, children need to build their sensory intelligence first.

During their first years of life, sensory integration is the most important stepping stone for all further development. If nurtured, it becomes a basis for their emotional regulation and mental capacity in adulthood.

Continuous and well directed sensory experiences nourish the brain. Strong sensory intelligence forms building blocks for development, mental health and overall learning. It allows children to be mindful so they can balance themselves and feel grounded and content.

To be able to regulate & reach their potential for balance and mindfulness, kids need to build their sensory intelligence first.

By encouraging free outdoor play and by incorporating adaptable open ended sensory objects into children's surroundings, we provide the tools for self-regulation while also nurturing their focus and memory skills.
