I think of design as an agent of change that re-examines the status quo and defines a new, better future. Especially when it comes to our children. Kids’ design is still mostly just a static, mini-version of adult-sized objects. Is that good (enough)? Why even question it? 

At its core the idea is very simple. If children were given the opportunity to choose a pilates ball instead of a school chair, in 6 months we would notice a huge positive difference in their behaviour and learning. Why aren't we already implementing these simple, yet effective, ideas?

I truly believe that the sensory approach to parenting and design should be mainstream; too bad it sounds so medical and complicated when the implementation is so simple. Let’s take a closer look at the concept of sensory integration. How does the supportive environment feel like?
